He has experience of working in both the public and private sectors, including project management of large infrastructure and utility projects from design through construction, medium and small scale schemes, habitat management and habitat creation. Neil specialises in habitat, vegetative, protected and notable faunal species ecology and mitigation; holds and has held survey and mitigation licences for a range of protected species including bats, great crested newt, white clawed crayfish, otter, water vole, sand lizard, natterjack toad and barn owl. This experience as a professional ecologist is enhanced through previous roles as a Countryside Ranger resulting in a pragmatic and practical approach to ecology and nature conservation. Email Marcella × Kelly MacGillivray Ecologist Kelly is an experienced ecologist that has specialisms in survey and mitigation particularly of bats and GCN. She joined NLG Ecology in early 2016 bringing her experience of project management and sound ecological knowledge and skill base. Kelly has experience of a range of protected species including amphibians, badgers and invertebrates. Kelly holds a Class 2 bat and great crested newt survey licences, she is also an associate member of CIEEM, holds valid CSCS/BALI accreditation for surveying on construction sites, and achieved PTS accreditation for rail work. Email Kelly × Helen Staton Ecologist Helen is an experienced all-round ecologist that has also developed a specialism in bat ecology and mitigation licencing. She takes a lead role in project management, with an ability to design, deliver and manage individual species surveys and see them through to mitigation. Since joining NLG Ecology Ltd in 2014 Helen has actively engaged in promoting a wider skill base to include reporting of Biodiversity offsetting and taking a leading with badger bait marking study to help inform Environmental Impact Assessments. Helen holds a level 1 bat and great crested newt survey licence, is an associate member of the CIEEEM and holds a valid CSCS and PTS card for working on construction and railway sites respectively. Email Helen × Lorraine McKee Senior GIS Technician and Assistant Ecologist Lorraine has a background in computing as well as holding an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation. She uses this knowledge to specialise as a GIS technician to produce maps and manage spatial data to a high standard. Lorraine is also developing a broader base of ecological experience within amphibian, mammal and botanical surveys and has developed a base knowledge for lichens and fungi. Lorraine is also trained in eDNA sampling for great crested newts and holds a relevant survey licence. In addition, Lorraine is working towards a bat survey licence. Additionally, Lorraine has gained transferrable skills such as effective project management and experience in working and communicating well as part of a team. Since joining NLG Ecology Ltd Tim has broadened his skills, taking on project planning and report writing responsibilities. Through experience working on construction sites, Laura has a CSCS card and regularly acts as an Ecological Clerk of Works.
